BSC hosted the second event in the 2025-26 Swift winter rowing series on Saturday - the first of the series to be held at Bosham - welcoming crews from Itchenor and the Coastal Rowing Academy (CRAC) for a day of fast, friendly and fiercely contested racing in the Bosham Channel.
Excellent conditions - light breeze, beautiful sunshine and unseasonably warm temperatures made it feel more like midsummer than November. Coach Peter Haining's now famous hand-drawn course map guided coxes through the Channel's twists and turns (with only minor debate about which buoy was " the tricky one")
Bosham made full use of home advantage, taking wins in the men's double, mixed double, mixed development quad, novice quad and men's quad.
Behind the scenes, the event ran with trademark Bosham energy and good humour thanks to Adrienne's superb catering, Laura's delicious soup (ideal sustenance for hungry rowers), Jane's meticulous preparation and coxing, Adrian and his race team, Catherine and her beach crew, Paddy's photography and Mike's drone footage, capturing the action from above.
Coach Peter Haining summed it up:
" Bosham rowers delivered five wins out of nine, showing their strength and depth. Across all types of craft, we are the nemesis to most of the clubs."
