Round Hayling Island Rowing Challenge 2025

On Sunday, 29th June, our Bosham Rowers, in collaboration with the Coastal Rowing Academy (CRA), took part in the 15th Annual Round Hayling Island Rowing Challengea demanding 22 km course for both fixed and sliding seat coastal rowing boats.

Our club was proudly represented by Peter Haining, our much valued rowing coach, who expertly coxed a swift quad around the course on what was perhaps the hottest Sunday of the year. Peter's scullers comprised Liz (stroke), Rowena (three), Jo (two), and David (bow).

Our team triumphed, winning the prize for the fastest coastal quad and setting a new course record of one hour and 54 minutesthe fastest in the event's 15-year history. Congratulations to all involved, and a heartfelt thank you to the event organiser, Mike Gilbert.
