Cracking Rowing at Dell Quay

Published 12:27 on 27 Feb 2026

Eighteen hearty BSC rowers and coxes in "Lundy" took on eight other 3 Harbours club at Dell Quay on Sunday Feb 16th, in what the organisers described as "challenging" conditions.

Though there was not a repeat of BSC's clean sweep of wins as in the last DQSC regatta for Celtics, BSC came joint second overall with two seconds, a third and a fourth. A solid result, especially as the men's team had to do a 360 for being over-enthusiastic on the start line.

These results still leave BSC men's in a good place to claim number 1 at the end of the series and BSC an overall top 3.

The next Celtic regatta is at Emsworth Slipper on March 7th, the same day as the Swift Regatta at Bosham.

As always, the team were proud and very loud ambassadors for BSC but next time we must remember to bring the flag!

Rowers: Peter Haining (cox), Jane Weller (cox),

Women's: Debbie Bell, Lyn Murray, Rachel Hodgson, Annie Proud

Mixed: Sally-Anne Radkiewicz, Tim Bell (and Lundy tow extraordinaire), Maxine Hulme, Rob Ward

Captain's choice: Louise Baverstock, Jeff Parker, David Shotton, Oliver Pleasance.
