Melissa Disney our fantastic Class Captain for the past three years has now handed over the reins to Claire Wren. After the Scow AGM on Saturday, Claire presented Melissa with an engraved vase and flowers as a thank you for her incredibly hard work, energy and enthusiasm for the Scow Fleet. Sunday dawned bright and sunny but with winds gusting F5. Nevertheless 9 intrepid scow racers with reefed sails braved the elements. A great course including Windmill, Cobnor and Anchor, saw close and exciting racing. The Cowslip Cup, which is awarded for a designated race in the early season, was presented by Prim Hoult. This was won by Izzy Lee, closely followed by Fiona MacFarlane for second place. Sunday's race proved yet again what a great all round fun dinghy the Scow is, whether it is social sailing round the harbour, learning to sail or racing in a F5! If you would like any information about joining our friendly fleet, please contact Claire at scowCC@boshamsailingclub.com |

| We've had a good turn out for the trial Rock up and Row Wednesdays. We've decided to see if we can make them a permanent fixture and have dates and times for May and June alternating between lunchtime and early evening sessions. All sessions are free but we do need you to book via the BSC website using the calendar.
If you have any questions please contact Class Captain Laura Bradley. |

| Keep Your Space Tidy
Dinghy park berth holders are reminded that it is their responsibility to maintain the area around their berth. For obvious reasons it is not possible for staff to mow or strim close to members' boats. Although there has been no rain for a long while, the nettles are growing. And as soon as there is rain everything will be sprouting all over. If berth holders have not yet collected and affixed their 2021 boat sticker and trolley tag could they please make arrangements with the office to collect these. |

| Bosham Junior Week 21 Qualification In light of the varying situation in schools of how they are running their GCSE's this year due to the pandemic, we have decided to extend the JW qualification date to Monday 28 June for this year group (Year 11). They therefore have an additional 3 weekends available to get their 4 qualifying races in. As per previous years, there are no race qualification requirements for A level year students Year 13. For everyone else, the qualification deadline remains the same ie 4 races to be completed by Monday 7 June which is the end of the summer half term. There are lots of opportunities to get qualified between now and 07 June including lots of racing this weekend! Please contact your class captain if you have any queries in connection with Junior Week. For full and detailed information about Junior Week Qualification, please click on this link. |
