Rescheduled Regatta
After no wind on Regatta day last Saturday we were forced to cancel. The BSC Regatta has now been rescheduled for 24th July. Thanks to the new RO Simon Radford and all the volunteers who have already stepped in to make this reschedule possible and to the CDB fleets for giving up one of their race days. The event is live on the website with an updated NoR and SI. All existing entries are transferred. National 18 entries from their Championships are also carried over but not showing on the Regatta entries. There is no need for 18s that entered the Championships to re-enter the rescheduled Regatta. Any 18s that did not enter the Championships and also did not enter the Regatta will need to enter the rescheduled Regatta. This is a big event for the club and members' support on the water (either sailing or volunteering) or on land is most welcome. If you are not sailing, please consider volunteering for a duty via the Members' Hub. Click here to volunteer.
Training Update
Summer training has kicked off this week in perfect weather (apart from the biblical thunderstorm at pack-up time on Monday) with RYA beginners courses plus silver Oppies honing their race skills for Junior Week.
Due to a cancellation, there is space on an RYA Powerboat Level 2 course this Sat/Sun. The forecast looks fabulous so if you fancy two sunny days perfecting your powerboating skills on Chichester Harbour this weekend do sign up. Open to non-members as well.
There is plenty of space on the BSC Oppie gold race coaching next Mon & Tues with IOCA coach, Henry Chandler. And plenty of opportunities for Oppies, Toppers Fevas, 420s and Lasers to get some race coaching days in before Junior Week.
There is also one space left on next week's RYA Stage 1+2 beginners course
Monday Club
Thank you to Mary Lacey and the Monday Club for letting us host your afternoon tea on the terrace earlier this week. The weather held off well and we hope that your enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful surroundings at Bosham that we are so lucky to have.
New Members Induction
After the last new members induction proving a success and with lots of new members joining BSC, we have added an additional date to the calendar. If you are relatively new to BSC why not come and enjoy a cup of locally ground coffee with Paddy Mirams (Commodore), Laura Bradley (RC Membership), Claire Aston (RC House) and Kathrine Turver (Clubhouse Manager).
Let us know your coming by clicking here.
Dinghy Park
Vehicles in the dinghy park are allowed for pick-up and drop-off only. We have had recent instances of boats being blocked in by unattended cars. And please observe walking pace speed when driving in and out. Monday's thunderstorm left large puddles and a lot of mud splattered on boats parked next to the track by cars driving too fast.
Junior Week Trophies
We are looking forward to receiving your shiny trophies. If you haven't done so already, please give yourselves time to make arrangements for your Junior Week trophy to be engraved, polished and returned to the Club.
There is always a member of staff around the Club during office hours so please pop in and hand them in. 7th August is the absolute latest.
Thank you
Bosham Sailing Club Food
To eliminate waste we have taken the decision to provide a book ahead only service.
This means that your food will be freshly prepared externally by Helen Clegg and delivered to the Club in time for the weekend. We can then serve this to you after 12:00 on Saturday or Sunday during bar opening hours. Click the here to pre-order a variety of platters and kids boxes.
